5-Amino-1MQ (5-amino-1-methylquinolinium) is a small-molecule quinolinium-derived compound rather than a peptide, and is typically supplied as a salt. In vitro and in animal models it has been characterized as an inhibitor of nicotinamide N-methyltransferase (NNMT), the enzyme that catalyzes the S-adenosylmethionine-dependent methylation of nicotinamide.
